Sonderbooks Stand-out 2005 (#2, Photography)

All you need to hear is the title to know that this will be an amazing book.  Celebrating more than a hundred years of photographic excellence, this book chooses to focus on portraits—pictures of people that tell us something about them, bring us into their world.

The result is breathtaking.  We feel we can see into the hearts of these strangers from long ago, from exotic and strange places all over the world.  We see trends in the magazine and in photography over the years.  This book gives us a peek at journalism, but mostly it gives us a peek at people—people from all walks of life, from all over the world, from every decade of the last century.

Truly an amazing book.
