**My Life in Jokes

by Bob Hope

with Linda Hope

Reviewed June 17, 2003.
Hyperion, New York, 2003.  206 pages.

The idea behind this book seems perfectly appropriate for Bob Hope’s 100th birthday.  Instead of a standard biography, this is a chronological selection of jokes he’s used down through the years.   I admit, most of the jokes were probably funnier in the time for which they were written.  I found the ones most amusing that were actually written in my lifetime (a minority).  However, it’s a nice twist on the typical autobiography, and seemed especially fitting in this case.
