***The One Minute Apology

A Powerful Way to Make Things Better

by Ken Blanchard and Margret McBride

Reviewed 03/03/03.
William Morrow, New York, 2003.  115 pages.

Ken Blanchard is also the author of The One Minute Manager.  I haven’t read that book, but I have read The One Minute Mother, by Spencer Johnson, which is based on the same ideas, and presents a wonderful approach to parenting.  Spencer Johnson is also the author of Who Moved My Cheese? and wrote a foreword to The One Minute Apology.

All of the books mentioned above are similar in style.  They present the ideas in a story format.  The simplistic and repetitive style can get annoying if you let it, but the information presented is excellent.

This book is about the power of apologizing, admitting your mistakes and then doing something about it.  Reading this book will take less than an hour of your time (with large print, and with important ideas repeated on their own page), and will give a good message.

All of these books are about being honest and respecting people’s feelings.  It doesn’t hurt to hear this message over and over again.
