***Rosy Cole's Worst Ever, Best Yet Tour of New York City

by Sheila Greenwald

Reviewed October 9, 2003.
Melanie Kroupa Books (Farrar, Straus and Giroux), New York, 2003.  121 pages.
Available in hardcover on Amazon.com for $11.20.
Available at Sembach Library (JF GRE).

Rosy’s cousin Duncan is coming to visit.  Rosy lives in New York City and loves it, but Duncan lives in the country and his parents hate the big city.  Rosy plans a wonderful tour for Duncan, seeing all the famous landmarks that are only found in New York City.  She’s never visited them before, because she’s not a tourist.

Day after day of Duncan’s week with them, something goes wrong to mess up Rosy’s plans.  What’s more, Duncan doesn’t seem interested in the touristy things but in ordinary things like musicians on the subway and ethnic foods.

This is a fun story about learning to be flexible and what makes a good vacation.
