**The Making of a Writer

by Joan Lowery Nixon

Reviewed July 18, 2002.
Delacorte Press, 2002.  97 pages.  Available at Sembach Library (J MCN B NIX).

In this book, Joan Lowery Nixon tells about her childhood and the events that contributed toward her successful career as a writer for children.  It’s written to answer letters from children who have asked her what they need to do to be a writer.  It’s not especially profound, but easy and fun to read.  Fans of her books will especially like it.
