I hadn’t intended to check this book out, but the amazing photographs caught my eye when I processed it, and I couldn’t resist giving it a closer reading.

This book tells the complete story of climbing Everest, from the first discovery that it is the tallest mountain in the world, through the first successful ascent to the abundance of expeditions going on today.  Clear maps explain several momentous expeditions, and stunning photographs illustrate the stories of even the earliest expeditions.  A fascinating book.
