****The Mystery of Marriage

As Iron Sharpens Iron

by Mike Mason

Reviewed January 1, 2003.
Multnomah Press, Portland, OR, 1985.  185 pages.

I got this book eight or ten years ago, on the recommendation of my sister.  This is a Christian meditation on marriage.  I turned to it as my sixteenth wedding anniversary approaches simply as a reminder of the wonder of marriage.  It never hurts to be reminded that bearing with the foibles and annoyances of ones spouse reaps infinite rewards in the end.

This book is poetic, talking about the spiritual principles that marriage illustrates and simply reminding us of the miracle that marriage ever works at all.  It’s beautifully written and makes an inspiring book.  Perfect for newlyweds and old married couples alike.  A good reminder when a marriage is rocky that it’s worth sticking with it, and when a marriage is going great of how blessed you are.
